SETH WHITE ARCHITECTS TURNS 2!

We are delighted to have celebrated our 2nd birthday last week on the beautiful island of Ibiza with friends and family! SWA have been fortunate enough to have completed a number of great projects this year and also secured some exciting new ones. We would like to say a special thank you to all our clients, colleagues and collaborators for helping us to get this far, and we look forward to completing many more high-quality projects with you going forward

COMPLETION AT THE RIDGEWAY

Our Ridgeway extension project in St Albans was successfully completed in June. The project consists of some internal reconfiguration and the addition of a new open-plan kitchen/ dining/ living space with full height glazed doors opening onto an external terrace area. The new facades were constructed using a buff brickwork with flush mortar and the internal spaces were also top lit via two large rooflights that flood the space with natural light.

CHANGES TO PART ‘F’, ‘L’ & ‘O’ BUILDING REGULATIONS

Important news: The updated Building Regulations include amendments to Approved Documents - Part F (Ventilation) and Part L (Conservation of fuel and power), and the release of a new Approved Document for Overheating (Part O). The proposals are primarily focused on new non-domestic buildings and include policies for existing non-domestic buildings, and new and existing housing.

COMPLETION AT GRANGE STREET

We are delighted to announce the completion of our Grange Street extension project in St Albans. This small yet well considered project provides our clients with a larger kitchen space plus a WC and external terrace area. The extension was constructed using a buff brick and standing seam Anthracite Zinc roof panels, including a large rooflight, allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the plan.

CHARITY WHITE COLLAR BOXING

Company Director, Seth White, competed in an Ultimate White Collar Boxing championship, back in April to raise money for Cancer Research UK. After 8 weeks of intense training he managed to successfully triumph over his opponent and went on to win the 3 round bout on a points decision! The event raised over £25,000 for Cancer Research UK with 1000+ spectators at the Berkhamstead Leisure Centre.

SITE PROGRESS AT CHAPEL FIELDS

Construction work is well under way on our extension project at Chapel Fields in Wilstone. The extension shall be clad in a diamond Zinc panel with brickwork piers located between full-height glazed sliding doors that open up to a flush terrace, overlooking the Chilterns.

NEW COMMISSIONS…

SWA have secured several exciting new projects over the past 6 months including this new build eco-home in St Albans and large extension/ remodelling project in Harpenden. We are excited to be progressing with these designs and look forward to starting construction in the new year.
